Lam Chun Sing‘s Hung Gar Seminars in Greece
Master Lam Chun Sing recently completed
a series of very successful seminars in Greece. Lam sifu with
his assistant David Fogg arrived in Athens, Greece on the
17th of January 2003 to teach and spread the traditional Chinese
martial art of Hung Kuen in Greece. This was the first time
Master Lam Chun Sing had ever visited Greece in order to pass
on and promote his family art of Hung Gar.
For the following three weeks, Lam sifu taught his family
art in series of seminars, workshops as well as private lessons.
Organized by Tang Tung Wing sifu, the chief instructor of
Tang’s Hung Gar Kung Fu Association in Greece, the seminars
were attended by an overwhelming number of participants. Over
250 students took part in the seminars to learn the traditional
art of Hung Gar from one of the most well known and respected
Hung Gar master in the world.
Through out his stay in Greece, Lam sifu taught number of
different Hung Gar weapon and hand sets including; Chin Cheung,
Ban Bo Kuen, Sup Ying Kuen, Kuan Lan Gim, Butterfly Knives
and more. Besides teaching variety of Hung Kuen sets, Master
Lam also instructed the students on many different aspects
of Hung Gar gung fu, fundamental principals of the style,
applications, hei gung etc.
The practitioners who took part
on these seminars were delighted and excited to be learning
the Lam family Hung Kuen directly from Lam Chun Sing sifu
himself. They were amazed with Lam sifu's skill and knowledge
in Hung Gar as well as his patience and accuracy in teaching.
Master Lam too was very pleased with the enthusiasm, friendship
and dedication demonstrated by the participants to truly learn
and improve their gung fu skills.
On 1'st of February
2003, a dinner part was organized for Master Lam Chun Sing's
birthday as well as to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A happy
event for all, many students turned up for the dinner party
to wish Lam sifu a happy birthday and thank him for coming
to Greece to teach and spread the authentic art of Hung Kuen
in Greece.
Master Lam Chun Sing has already been invited teach and promote
Hung Kuen in Greece again. Due to the success of the seminars
as well as the friendship, eagerness and dedication shown
by the students, Lam sifu has promised and already making
plans to return to Greece again in the near future for more
seminars, work-shops and private lessons.
