 Lam Chun Fai
sifu, the eldest son of grand master Lam Cho was born in 1940
in Hong Kong. Named by his great uncle Lam Sai Wing, he began
his Hung Gar training at the tender age of 5 under the carefully
and strict guidance of his father. Following his fathers teaching,
Lam Chun Fai sifu diligently trained in his family art for decades.
He was very persistent and dedicated many hours a day to perfecting
his gung fu skills. Alongside gung fu Lam Chun Fai sifu also
trained in the traditional art of dit da and mastered everything
his father taught him. As a young man he assisted his father
with teaching gung fu and treating patients using his dit DA
skills. He eventually became the chief instructor at all of
the four schools, one of which was the well known Lam Sai Wing's
gung fu school. Later he opened his own gung fu school and dit
DA clinic in the North Point of Hong Kong island where he still
continues to teach Hung Kuen and treat patients.
Lam Chun Fai sifu has taken the great responsibility of representing
his family gung fu and has dedicated his life to the promotion
and advancement of Hung Gar gung fu. He is often invited to
display and demonstrate the power of his family art at all the
big gung fu events held in Hong Kong. In 1974, he was asked
to demonstrate his skills in front of the camera for the title
scene of a movie named "Budo Lam". A Hong Kong production
the film is about the life of famed Hung Gar master Lam Sai
Wing. In 1985, Lam Chun Fai sifu was invited
to China to represent Hong Kong as a
consultant for the the International Wushu Invitational Tournament,
held in Xian. A year later, during 1986, he was invited to Tianjin,China once again
to take part in the 2nd International Wushu Invitational Tournament
where he performed "Fu Hok Seung Ying Kyun"
and "Seung Lung Dou". His amazing skills and awesome performance won him the award for the
most distinctive performance and was presented with
a gold medal.
Currently Lam Chun Fai sifu lives in Hong Kong and operates
a gung fu school and dit DA clinic located in North Point of
Hong Kong Island where students from all over the world from
countries such as USA, Greece, Canada, Italy, Chezh Republic
etc. travel to Hong Kong every year to train under him. Some
of his western students have opened up schools of their own
to teach and spread the art of Hung Gar in their home countries.
Lam Chun Fai sifu is an executive member of Hong Kong Wu Shu
Union and honorary president & principal of European
Siu Lum Pai Hung Kar Federation, located in Athens/Greece
run by his student Kostas Tsoligas. He often travels all over
the world to teach and promote the Lam family Hung Kuen. Over
the years, he has frequently been invited to give demonstrations,
lead seminars, and teach private classes all over the world.
